As I lay Dying killed it at Mayhem this year. I had more respect for them after seeing them play in Bonner Springs, KS. Now with their new music video for “A Greater Foundation”, my expectations were again met. Just a simple music video of thrashing, headbanging and moshing going on. Exactly what you want to see when you see a metal show take place. AILD is one of the few melodic metalcore bands I give a crap about.
The new Red Line Chemistry video is just a live dub and I’ve never listened to these guys before. They are a mix of a few radio bands that get heavy rotation and a pinch of Tool. The singing melody and guitar riff definitely has a Tool feel to it. View the video for “Unspoken” below, it’s not too bad.
Andrew W.K.‘s new video for his classic song “Time To Party”, which is being re-released as a 10 year anniversary package for his album “I Get Wet”, is over the top fun and excitement. I was smiling and getting into it. The video is under 2 minutes long so it’s like a fun “party and gtfo” video. I really enjoyed it!
The next video is a lyric video for A Life Once Lost‘s new song “Madness is God”. Ecstatic Trance will be out via Season of Mist on Oct. 22nd and I may have to check this one out. The riffs are very headbang inducing with it’s open string grooves and early 2000′s composition. Sounds very Soulfly honestly. I can dig it.
Finally we have Taproot‘s new music video for their song “The Everlasting”, which is actually a really good song! The music video is good as well, even ending with a brief moment in a graveyard and ending on a cliff hanger. I really liked the concept of the song/video and I’m honestly wanting to hear more from Taproot!
