Ophidius is a trio of devastatingly talented young men who released a fantastic Skyrim themed EP (For free too, how nice) and they recently opened a New Jersey show with Artificial Brian, Cognitive, Pyrrhon and Gigan on the bill! Impressive! Check out the radical new track below and then head on over to their bandcamp and download that EP. You’re welcome.
Ophidius is just one of those bands whom I adore and I swear they get not enough attention. Incredible talent, beautiful musicianship and headbang inducing metal! Dragonborn axe master (I said axe) Peter Brown slays the song called “Glory of the Dead“, which is on their new EP “The Throat of the World” and is available for free download here. Enjoy the video and subscribe to their Youtube channel.
I’ve been a long time fan of Chimaira, since 2003 in fact. They kickstarted a burn in my heart for faster, heavier music with incredible solos and great riffs. The music was magical, the lyrics were perfect and the overall feeling I got while listening to Chimaira back then was sublime.
The Skyrim inspired band OPHIDIUS have released a video for one of their songs off of their EP (The Throat of the World) called “The World Eater’s Eyrie”. Blonde Nord axe swinger Peter Brown shows off his skills in this play through and it’s just fun to watch. The EP is free to download and check out the review I gave for it here. I dig the TV on the amp too, nice touch.
In This Moment blew up around 2007 I believe due to an amazing amount of push from their label and their stint on Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival. The metalcore band had a trick up it’s sleeve as a blonde girl wearing a blue Alice in Wonderland type of dress jumped around on stage and they weren’t all too bad. The music was average but Maria Brink was relying on her vocal performance to win over fans. I must say, it worked on me, for roughly 3 hours then I was over it. Now I am here, REALLY not wanting to view this new music video since I know how downhill their sound has evolved….or devolved I should say. Unfortunately, I was correct.
It’s no secret, I think Metal Injection is great. I honestly didn’t even know it was a website until they talked about it on the Livecast back in 2008, which I randomly found while looking for metal podcasts. While the gang doesn’t discuss too much about music, they are incredibly funny and likable people. I began visiting the site, engaging people on forums and often visited Metal Injection for my up to date news on heavy music. I’d like to think that this occurrence of events is what got me motivated to begin this very blog. Many metal websites exist and some of them are good. However, I think Metal Injection has character, integrity and top shelf personalities when it comes to interviews. One of them being Robert Pasbani and I asked him a few questions about the site.
Metal Injection is premiering the brand new music video from Lamb of God‘s “As The Palaces Burn” album. The song? Vigil. The amazing closing track that just gave me chills listening to it again. I haven’t heard this song in years.
“Fracked”, taken from Revocation’s self titled album that was released this year.
