We’re in April now and usually every year I post a 3/6/9 month update on my top albums of 2013. I’ve listened to a ton of great music so far this year but these are the bands that have just put out a solid release and I still can’t get enough of them. Love it, hate it, argue about it. Here are my top 10 albums of the year (so far), in no particular order:

In an effort to get caught up on the flood of reviews that have been submitted over the past month, I’ve decided to do a massive review post. Labeling the band, album name, score and a small description of the music in an effort to get caught up and still manage to post some sort of quality writing material for all of you faithful readers out there. Today’s list includes: Suffocation, Animist, Baal, Blockheads, Moghul, Vorum, Momentum, Rotting Christ, Zombified, Nightfall, Gloria Morti, Lightning Swords of Death and Raven Black Night.
Do you guys always wear sunglasses? Why does that bother me so much? Oh well. Lightning Swords of Death is a blend of Watain, Goatwhore and Behemoth…crusty blackened thrash death greatness. Here is the video for their song “Baphometic Chaosium”.
Blackened death metal, you really cannot go wrong with this genre. Lightning Swords of Death adds much more to this fact with their new track “Baphometic Chaosium”. This is my first time hearing of this band and with a name like that, I couldn’t resist. I had to click on the link and see what these guys sounded like and the result was instant: I’m a fan.
