Qreview! TesseracT – One

This album is a great blend of soothing ambient and poppy slap bass type of music. Drumming is nothing ultra extraordinary, it just keeps the rhythm nice and steady. The vocals are sang and they are done well. The album runs together so damn well I never was able to tell when a song starts and stops (Except for the beginning and the end, smart ass). Some of the rhythm sections had me moving my head and I quite enjoyed listening to this album.

The only bad qualities of this album are the lack of catchy riffs. I need that kind of shit to pull me back into the album. Catchy riffs and songs have me setting albums on repeat and I listen to them for months. While I did enjoy this album quite a bit, I feel that the lack of this particular element will prevent me from listening to this album again unless I am in the mood for this style of music. I appreciate this type of music, but the guitarists who just chug through most of the song and add some random slap bass riffs in there just isn’t enough for me.

(I tried my hardest to not use the word Djent)

Pros: Quality music and production

Cons: Nothing grabs me and makes me want to listen to it again
