Deathevocation claims to be “brutal technical death metal” but I’d have to disagree. While there are some leads happening, it’s far from true tech death. (EDIT: Upon further listening, there are some definitely technical death metal riffs and wankery happening here. Holy shit!) With that said, it’s still good death metal. It’s fierce, it’s savage, it’s a headbanger! There definitely is talent here. I don’t know if this band is even together or not anymore because both their Reverb Nation page and Facebook page state they are on a hiatus at the moment. Which is a shame, I think they would have a positive experience if they toured the US or Europe. Be sure to check out their Facebook page and give them a “like” and support independent music!!! I don’t say that just cuz it’s really underground, I say that cuz the music is actually GOOD. That is what matters.
