Album Review! SOLACE AND STABLE – The N/A EP

Kansas City’s own Solace and Stable sent me this 3 song demo/EP without a name. This metalcore act came out of nowhere…I’ve been into the local scene here and I’ve never heard of them before. I mainly focus on the death metal music in the area so that may be a reason why. Back to Solace and Stable: their ability to write some interesting music is up there, I was impressed with their attack and execution. I’ve usually not into metalcore but these guys definitely make it hard to not enjoy what is being played through the speakers.

The EP consists of 3 jammin songs: “Culture Of Corruption“, “Design and Deceit” and “Satisfiction“. It almost sounds like there is too much going on, amidst the frenzy though you’ll hear great composition and fun riffing. The leads are almost as if they didn’t really give a fuck where their fingers went yet it sounds good. It’s controlled chaos, it’s a beautiful disaster. It’s something I wasn’t too positive about going in to but the experience changed that around. I enjoyed it each time I listened to it!

The EP is terribly short, just over 10 minutes long….but it’s enough to understand what this band is about. It’s not deathcore at all, which is good. It’s not that catchy metalcore from 2005….it’s a faster paced and very angrily riff oriented metal. So prepare your necks for the headbang because this album will definitely make you do so. Solace and Stable have my attention now, I’ll be looking forward to seeing them on stage and hearing new material hopefully soon.
