Album Review: Saccage – Death Crust Satanique

saccage

Saccage’s “Death Crust Satanique” album is one hell of a blackened punk thrash album. A no holds barred, bare knuckle boxing match of headbanging, raw energy and furious riffing, screaming and drumming. “Death Crust Satanique” reminds me of the first time I saw Goatwhore live. Just in awe, sitting there like “Whoa, this is loud. This is intense. This is awesome!!!!” The take no prisoners Canadian band have put out a solid, thrashing album. Furious headbanging ensues as you listen to the album, you can’t help it. I’m sober and I’m having a good time. After a handle of whiskey, I could start a riot.

Only a couple of songs are around the 3 minute mark, which means the rest are churned out in a grind fashion, just one after another. Great riffing, drumming and vocal work all around. Very menacing and punishing music with some decent production, sounds good but not incredibly clear. If you’re into punk, grind, chaos, cigarettes and unprotected sex, then this album is for you. Very gnarly blackened thrash grind metal happening here.
