Sweden’s AEON brings forth a new album of pure death metal. “Aeons Black” just bleeds evil and is one of the main death metal albums you’ll NEED in your collection. Aeon’s sound is traditional, tempo changing songs that can go from a slower chug to a fast tremolo furious riff. Drumming from hell and bass work thundering on as the vocals are spewed in a beastly manner. Aeon just writes incredibly pissed off music and “Aeons Black” is relentless and strong from the second you press play til the final note is strummed.
How could an album so dark be so refined and good? Easy, Aeon does exactly what Cannibal Corpse, Deicide and Hate Eternal does and works it in such a way that they can still get that powerful, thick monstrous sound but make it their own. This isn’t a copy by any means, this is Aeon making their 2012 death metal masterpiece. If the world does end this year, this is the soundtrack. If the volcanoes burst and the tides take over the land, I am going to blast this music until the power is out and the fire consumes everything.
Fifteen tracks of hate and fury, “Aeons Black” shows that true and traditional death metal is far from dead and any fan of metal, especially death metal, needs to pick up this album when it comes out on November 20th, 2012. Amazing musicianship, incredible production values and overall just a ripping good metal album. HAIL AEON!!!!
