Dr. Acula has brought us the most bro-core party hard album I’ve heard so far this year. “Slander”  is a breakdown heavy deathcore album with tons of weird samples ranging from chicks crying on the phone to Mario from Super Mario Bros dying. Most of the guitars are just to keep rhythm, with most of the music being just an open string chord or chug-a-thon. Drums are powerful and vocals are decent. There are tons of vocal styles on this album. Low, scream low, high, screaching high, it’s all here and done well. With the crazy samples comes some un-needed dance along beats which can be found on the song “Currently Sexting” for example.

The songs are average and the lyrics are humorous at times: “Mark ass trick, thought you won in the end. I wont be using no protection when I fuck all your friends”. There are no redeeming qualities or anything too exciting about this album, it’s pretty generic. Do not take this band seriously at all. The one thing I thought was done really well was the breakdown ending on “Pure And Immature (Goon)“, it was the only thing in the entire album that caught my attention and made me headbang.

Slander is just one big orgy/party album. Love it or hate it. It’s an interesting album to listen to.

Cons: music is boring, the tough guy/party all of the time mentality is annoying
